LCN has holdings of more than
8,000 acres rich in minerals, trees and wildlife
ranging across Schuylkill and Carbon counties
in Pennsylvania and between the cities of Tamaqua
in the west and Jim Thorpe in the east.
As many as 400 acres of land mined during the
past 200 years have been reclaimed and re-planted
under a project funded by coal sales.
Efforts are underway to reclaim as much as 2.4
million cubic yards of mined property annually
with a goal of creating fields, park lands and
natural preserves. |
